Last year when I spoke about Track Attack, I often called it Confidence Camp. Because the athletes range in age by 10 years there is a natural leadership opportunity afforded to the older athletes. It astounds me every year to see complete strangers come together as a team in less than a week. While the older children gain leadership skills the younger children benefit just as much. They gain a sense of community and belonging and develop positive relationships with children outside of their family. When the children come together something magical happens, this is the only job that doesn’t feel like work.
I love Track Attack.
